Elecampane

Elecampane, Inula helenium is a medicinal weed. It is a stout perennial that grows up to 7 feet high, with large ovate leaves with gray undersides, and bright yellow flowers. It can be mistaken for a sunflower. The Algonquin, Cherokee, Delaware, Iroquois, and others have used it to treat various respiratory problems, including tuberculosis, asthma, and the common cold. Elecampane helps expel worms and parasites, supports the digestive system, expels mucus and phlegm from the lungs, and sanitizes the lungs. It is antiseptic and antimicrobial. It suppresses coughing and alleviates pain and irritation. Spiritually, Elecampane is ruled by the Sun, Mercury and air and can be worked with for love, protection, increasing psychic powers, releasing grief, forgiveness, healing family trauma, and removing stagnant energy.

Caution: Do not use it if you have ulcers, diarrhea, pregnancy, or nursing.

Elecampane is a part of Sweet Like Honey Herbals 'Easy Come, Easy Go' digestive tincture formula.
